Which MuchLoved data does Bridgit pull?

Bridgit pulls five reports, which between them carry 220 fields. Donations and Tributes show you gifts and new in memory funds as they happen. Donor Details is the big one at 80 fields per gift, covering the donor's full contact details, their marketing consent, what was given, what was taken in fees, what reached you and which payment it arrived in. Charity Tributes carries 77 fields per fund, including the tribute guardian, the funeral contact and running totals. Charity Donations Summary is the finance view of the same money. The data dictionary below lists every field in plain English.

Who are the different people in a MuchLoved record?

There are four. The tributee is the person who has died and in whose memory the fundraiser is for, so their name should never be written to. The tribute guardian is the family member who set the fund up and runs it, and is usually your main relationship. The funeral contact is whoever organised the funeral, often a funeral director’s firm rather than a person, so those name fields need checking before they become supporter records. The donor is simply whoever gave, arriving with their own address, consent and Gift Aid. Bridgit keeps the four apart on the way through rather than merging them into a single contact.

What access does Bridgit need to my MuchLoved account?

An Application ID and API Key, which MuchLoved support issues to your charity on request. Your credentials are encrypted, and Bridgit only ever reads. Nothing in your tributes, your donation records or your account settings can be changed by the connector.

How often does Bridgit sync data from MuchLoved?

You choose your schedule when setting up your bridge: daily, weekly or monthly. For example, you could run a daily sync so that a new tribute fund and the family behind it reach the CRM while the relationship is still forming. Each run picks up where the last one finished, so you are never re-importing donations you already have.

Does the data include marketing consent?

Yes. MuchLoved records whether the consent question was asked at all, then a separate answer for email, post, phone and text, plus the date the answers were captured. Bridgit maps those onto your CRM’s own consent fields, so a MuchLoved supporter arrives with their preferences already set rather than as an unknown you have to chase.

Can I reconcile MuchLoved income against what actually reaches my bank?

Yes, and this is the job most finance teams want the connector for. MuchLoved pays out once a month, but the payout rarely covers exactly the donations processed in that same month, because a gift given near the month end can settle in the next one and Gift Aid arrives on its own timetable. Every row in Donor Details carries its payment status, the date of the transfer and the reference of the transfer it belonged to, so Bridgit can group the report by payout rather than by calendar month and hand you a figure that matches your bank. Charity Tributes also shows, per fund, how much has been paid over and how much is still outstanding.

Does Bridgit handle in memory data sensitively?

It is the reason the connector is built the way it is. Every record carries a date of death, and Bridgit can use it to flag the CRM record as in memoriam so the fund is never swept into a routine appeal, and to calculate the first anniversary so nobody has to diarise it. Where the family have left special instructions, those come through as their own field rather than being dropped, and the tribute’s privacy settings arrive alongside the gift so you can see what the family chose to make public.

Can Bridgit automatically assign campaign or fund codes for my CRM?

Usually, yes. MuchLoved gives your charity twelve reference fields you control: four against the tribute, four against the fundraising and four against the donor or user, all of which you can rename in your MuchLoved Partner Area. Where you already use those for fund or appeal codes, they arrive on every row. Where your CRM uses different codes, Bridgit’s mapping rules translate them automatically, and anything that does not match a rule is left blank for you to review rather than guessed at.

Can Bridgit bring across my historical MuchLoved data?

Yes. MuchLoved does not limit how far back you can go, so Bridgit collects the whole period you need and assembles it into a single file. We will confirm exactly what your account holds during setup.

What transformations can Bridgit apply before the data reaches my CRM?

Bridgit supports a wide range of transformations including: reformatting dates, correcting name capitalisation, tidying UK postcodes, translating fund and appeal codes into the ones your CRM uses, stamping a fixed value on every row (e.g. "MuchLoved" as the platform), joining fields together, changing case, and rounding numbers. For MuchLoved specifically we can also test whether a funeral contact looks like a person or a company, so a funeral director’s firm does not land in your database as an individual supporter. Where does the data land? Can I choose between a spreadsheet, cloud storage, or a direct CRM push?

Bridgit supports three output options. The most common is a CRM-ready spreadsheet, which your team can review and upload directly. We also support landing data as a CSV or JSON file in S3 or SFTP storage, which suits teams with an existing data pipeline. Direct-to-CRM integration (e.g. Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge NXT, Dynamics) is also available, though this currently requires a bespoke implementation. How Bridgit's MuchLoved connector works

Bridgit connects securely to the MuchLoved API using an Application ID and API Key issued to your charity, and only ever reads, so Bridgit can see your in memory fundraising but never change anything in your account. From there, Bridgit pulls your donations, your tribute funds and the full donor detail behind them, tidies everything up and prepares it for your CRM, whether that is Raiser's Edge NXT, Salesforce or something else.

What that means in practice:

No more manual data entry. Bridgit collects your donations, tribute funds and donor detail on the schedule you choose, and the cleanup you do by hand today happens on the way through: dates reformatted for your CRM, names title-cased, UK postcodes standardised, fund and appeal codes filled in using rules you set once. What lands is ready to import.

Consent that lands ready to use. MuchLoved asks donors about email, post, phone and text separately, and records the date they answered. Bridgit maps all four onto your CRM's own consent fields, so an in memory supporter arrives with their preferences already set rather than as an unknown somebody has to chase.

The Four People in MuchLoved

A MuchLoved record describes up to four different people. It's important that your CRM import treats them that way, so nobody receives inappropriate communications. Bridgit keeps them apart on the way through.

The tributee: The person who has died, and in whose memory the fundraiser is for. A name to recognise, never a name to write to.
The tribute guardian: The family member who set the fund up and runs it. Usually your main relationship, and a genuine supporter record.
The funeral contact: Whoever organised the funeral, often a funeral director's firm rather than a person.
The donor: Whoever gave. Arrives with their own address, consent and Gift Aid.

Reports

One row per gift, and the quickest way to see money arriving. It carries the amount, the Gift Aid and the tribute the gift was given to, but not the donor's contact details. For those, use Donor Details.
